Blue Christmas Service -Dec. 21 at 5:30 pm

For many people, the approaching Christmas holiday does not bring with it the joy and happiness that is advertised on television or in greeting cards. They may be facing a holiday after the death of a loved one or after a divorce. Perhaps they have been unable to have a child, or have suffered through an emotional trauma. Or perhaps they feel pressured and overwhelmed by holiday preparations.
The Blue Christmas Service is a service of compassion and prayer. This service has a more quiet, somber feel than a traditional Christmas worship service. It offers scripture, music and meditations on the comfort God offers during dark times.

Healing Circle

HEALING CIRLE - Monday, Dec. 15 at 11:00 AM

A CONVERSATION ON RACE AND RITUAL OF HEALING

The recent events in Ferguson and the court's decision on the Eric Garner case in Staten Island have left us with a need to talk about racism in this country and how we can contribute to eradicate it. Come to our healing circle as we discuss, pray and have a healing ritual on this issue that affects so many of us.

Advent is Here!

Advent is Here!

During advent we get ready for Jesus. Indeed it is a season of spiritual preparation in which we get ready for the birth of Jesus.  Celebrating Advent typically involves prayer, meditation, slowing down, and quieting the voices around us as we anticipate in hope, joy, peace and love.

The seasons of Advent and Christmas offers us ample opportunities to embrace the spiritual practices of waiting, patience, hope, and joy. These are wise teachers but they come to us during the rush and clamor of the holiday season, a time when many of us are overwhelmed with obligations and extra work.
Instead of caving in to the stress of the holidays, let us stop briefly during Advent and the twelve days of Christmas to refresh our mind, body, and soul with inspirational quotations that show us another path through the season.

Take time to worship in the communion and fellowship of our faith community. We have various opportunities for you to join with us during this season. May Advent and Christmas be a pure and holy joy for you and your loved ones!

With blessings to all during this Advent season,
Pastor D
